The free, self-guided, public art phenomenon known as The Downtown Art Walkbrings together art lovers and community friends to the ever evolving downtown Los Angeles. With exciting and unique offerings around every corner, downtown celebrates the arts each and every month on the 2nd Thursday. Please refer to your calendar for specific dates. A cool trend in popular photography recently has been the use of tinting blacks & color shifting. Take a looks at some examples below. The effect has been used in various SNL, Ray-Ban and Louis Vuitton photos campaigns.

Baby Carrots in Disguise!

Crispin Porter + Boguskyhas launched a new campaign to make baby carrots as appealing as their junkier counterparts. The campaign tag openly announces the strategy: "Baby Carrots: Eat 'em like Junk Food." Crispin has designed new types of packaging mimicking that of carrots' greasier snack brethren. It also created a website, a soon-to-launch iPhone app and spots, set to break on September 7. This fall will also see the release of an online series on YouTube, The Late Shift w/ Chip & Abdul.

Minority Advertising Training Program offers a great opportunity to get a PAID internship with some of the most prestigious Advertising agencies in southern California. I cam across this signage for a Eye Love Optical on the corner of 3^rd and Oxford in Los Angeles, and I totally think that either Lens Crafters ripped them off of vice versa. I dunno you be the judge.

God hates fat people***

Now you can Sweat with God and the Body Gospel DVD work out.

This intense bible thumping work-out hones in on every major muscle ground. So if you don’t get the results you want it’s because God hates you. Or maybe he didn’t feel you gave it your all. Either or it’s obvious that GOD wants you to be thin.

This is the start of a trend. The faith based workout DVD. I can't wait to see what the next series might be "Achieve with Allah" edition includes an hour of extra workouts that will blast your ass into shape. While the "Burn with Buddha" edition lets you eat whatever you want! And the "Mormon Sexy Beach Bod" will get you results... but it still won't let you get gay married. 

But I guess anything that gets American's fat asses up off the couch is a + in my book. Now drop down and give me 20 hail Mary’s.  I can’t hear you.

Fall College Advertising for Bienestar

BIENESTAR is a unique non-profit social service organization dedicated to positively impacting the health and well-being of the Latino community and other underserved communities in Southern California. Founded in 1989, the organization uses an innovative and compassionate peer-to-peer model that is 100% culturally relevant to its constituents. Clients are met with understanding and acceptance that builds trust and fosters a unique sense of family. 

BIENESTAR is an expert voice on emerging health issues. Key to its success is health education and awareness regarding HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and drug prevention. It primarily targets the Latino gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender segments of the community. BIENESTAR’s approach empowers its clients to improve their physical and mental health and become productive members of society.

Take a look at some of the ads I created for the organization. They will be in college campus magazines, newspapers and websites, all throughout southern california. Most college students lives are such a blur and grabbing there attention, even for a second can be challenging this is why I chose to use bright and bold colors with tons of contrast. The ad will completely jump of the page or website.

The new CD by the girl kissing singer has taken a page out of Elle Woods’ playbook and made her booklet smell like cotton candy! Yummy! Too bad it’s not real cotton candy!

Jack in the Box Old logo LAME- New logo GOOD but...

The new Jack in the Box sign is awesome too bad the execution sucks! You can tell that the designer wanted to keep the logo clean and simple "JUST JACK" but I guess the cost kept the logo from really reaching it's potential.

As most chains have opted to keep the original square box signage frame and force the new logo to have a grey background. LAME.


They should of just called it JACK- that's it... and no

"in the box" everyone call's it JACK anyways.
